Formerly known as Atlanta Immersion. Now reimagined as ATL EXP, Atlanta’s home for films that push form, story, and technique. This festival highlights experimental narrative, experimental documentary, mixed media, unconventional animation, abstract work, experimental horror, and shorts built with new methods of AI storytelling.
We accept experimental films in every style. That includes shorts created by hand through painted film, collage, direct animation, and stop motion. It also includes digital experiments, hybrid work, non narrative pieces, and AI generated films that use artificial intelligence for imagery, animation, editing, or story structure. If your film explores new methods or ignores traditional rules, it fits here.

What To Expect
Expect a full day and night of screenings, Q&As, panels, and connection. The festival feels like a creative lab. ATL EXP supports both analog experimental filmmaking and AI driven cinema, giving space to artists working across every part of the spectrum.

We want shorts that take risks. Films that get strange. Films that twist expectation or play with tone. Dark work. Funny work. Disturbing work. Beautiful work.
